Soldiers from the Massachusetts Army
National Guard's 3rd Brigade, 126th Aviation Regiment
and Training Support Center, Camp Edwards conducted fast
roping training with agents from the Federal Bureau of
Investigation's tactical units at Cape Cod,
Massachusetts in
March 2012.
Fast roping occurs when personnel enter an
area by sliding down a rope from a hovering helicopter.
The Guard has the trained personnel, as well as, both the
rappelling, a fundamental part of fast roping, and the
aviation assets needed to provide the training.
