Military Child of the Year Award is
bestowed annually on five extremely deserving young
Americans, representing each military service branch, who
have turned the challenges of frequent relocations and
deployments of loved ones into a passion for excellence,
service and helping others.
The 2014 recipients are...
Juanita Lindsay Collins, Coast Guard; Kenzie Hall, Army;
Ryan Patrick Curtin, Navy; Gage Alan Dabin, Air Force; and,
Michael-Logan Burke Jordan, Marine Corps ... who were
honored in an April ceremony with attendees including
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey; Admiral
Jonathan Greenert, Chief of Naval Operations; Vice Admiral
Peter Neffenger, Deputy Commandant for Operations, U.S.
Coast Guard; General Ray Odierno, Chief of Staff of the
Army; Gen John Paxton, Assistant Commandant of the
Marine Corps; General Mark Welsh, Chief of Staff of the
Air Force; and, singer / performer, Brett Michaels.
