San Antonio's inaugural Here's To Our
Heroes Military River Parade on May 19, 2012 involves 25
decorated floats themed according to their participants
along with all branches of America's military, veterans,
military support groups, and more. As a tribute to the
Armed Forces, the city died the San Antonio River blue
for the parade. The River Walk parade route is also be
decorated with yellow ribbons provided by the community
in honor or memory of those who serve, or have served
our country. This proud celebration culminated with a
free concert hosted by Operation Homefront,
a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing
emergency financial assistance to military members and
their families.
