Red, White and Blue Program For Middle Schoolers With Soldiers
A look at the National Guard Patriot Academy's Red,
White and Blue Program, which expands educational
opportunities for middle school students in an overnight
summer/weekend program at the campus of the Patriot
Academy in Butlerville, Indiana.
On August 3, 2011 (Wednesday), students from Franklin
Community Middle School (Indiana) arrive and are paired
with Soldiers who mentor them throughout the 3-day
course. They middle school students eat in a military
dining facility' participate in military education and
briefings; and sleep in Army barracks. Upon completing
on the students receive certificates of completion and
awards . . . returning to school with new found
motivation with the help of the soldiers' positive
mentoring.

Student Dustin Lewis, Army Pvt. Brandon Beverly, and
Army Pvt. Trevor Hirby commenting on the "Red, White and
Blue Program".
