Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Team San Diego
demonstrate a Visit, Board, Search and Seizure aboard the
USS Fort Worth (LCS 3) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam,
Hawaii in association with the 2016 U.S.-Association of
Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Defense Informal.
Secretary of Defense Ash Carter
hosted the 2016 U.S.-Association of Southeast Asian Nations
(ASEAN) Defense Informal in Honolulu. This gathering
included defense ministers from ASEAN member states, and
followed up on the commitments and issues raised at the 2016
U.S.-ASEAN Summit in Laos. The ministers discussed common
security concerns and opportunities for further cooperation
to build and sustain a rules-based international order in
the Asia-Pacific.
