Crew members from the Coast Guard Cutter
Seneca set the special sea detail during a transit through the New
York East River March 21, 2015 during a two-month Mid-Atlantic Ocean
patrol. Medium endurance cutters like the Seneca are built for
multi-week offshore patrols including operations requiring enhanced
communications, and helicopter and pursuit boat operations, which
provide a key capability for homeland security operations at sea.
