Bronze Star Recipients
A Marine and a sailor serving with 1st Light Armored
Reconnaissance Battalion received the Bronze Star with
combat distinguishing device during a ceremony on January
22, 2013.
Sergeant Thaddeus Herber (middle in photo), an infantryman, and
Petty Officer 3rd Class Mark Connolly (right in photo), a corpsman, received
the Bronze Star from Maj. Gen. Ronald Bailey (left in photo), the commanding
general of 1st Marine Division, for their actions in Helmand
province, Afghanistan in 2011.
Following the ceremony, both heroes discuss their valiant
efforts that earned the Bronze Star.
