President George W. Bush presents
the Congressional Medal of Honor to the wife and 11 year
old son
of fallen U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Paul Smith at
the White House
on April 4, 2005 . . . exactly two years after he
made the ultimate sacrifice performing his heroic actions in
Iraq.
Sergeant First Class Paul Smith was the
first to be awarded the Medal of Honor in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The
following is a reenactment of fallen SFC Paul Smith's
heroic actions that earned him the Medal of Honor in
Iraq.
