December 13, 2011 - Army Sgt. Jacob Perkins is awarded the Soldier's Medal for his heroic, lifesaving actions on July 22, 2011.

Sgt. Perkins was the first on the scene at a horrific accident on the NYS Thruway and pulled several victims to safety.
