Michael Novosel reflects on his military service and being awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions in Kien Tuong Province, South Vietnam during October, 1969. After flying for over seven hours over Southern Vietnam Michael Novosel was tasked to extract an unknown number of soldiers from the midst of an active battle.Throughout the course of the mission Novosel performed 15 different extractions and rescued 29 soldiers. While picking up the last of the men he was shot by an enemy soldier, but still managed to maintain control of the aircraft and remove the last of the US forces from harms way.
