Arthur Jackson was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions at Peleliu
in the Western Pacific, September of 1944. Pinned down and cornered on a
peninsula Arthur Jackson was asked to make a daring one man assault on an
enemy bunker. After successfully crossing a hail of enemy fire and destroying the bunker, he continued to single-handedly engage and destroy 12 enemy positions which led to the success of his unit's operation.
