An inspiring story about nineteen year old Army PFC Cory Cox's
bravery in December 2011 that should make every American proud.
When
PFC Cox's unit was attacked during a patrol and in the face of
incoming fire, he maneuvered his vehicle to provide
covering fire for soldiers in another vehicle out of ammunition,
then dismounted ... running ammunition to them disregarding his
own safety.
This young man from Humble
(Houston), Texas exemplifies what
American troops have done in the face of fatal danger since the
Revolutionary War and none more so than what America's Greatest Generation showed
under the harshest combat conditions during World War II.
Pfc.
Cory Cox was recognized for his heroics on February 10, 2012
with the Army Commendation Medal with “V” for Valor that was
pinned on his uniform by Gen. Martin Dempsey, the Chairman of
the Joint Chiefs of Staff (photo above).
