Fallen Marine MOH Recipient Bruce Carter Recognized
Forty-four years after making the ultimate sacrifice to
protect fellow Marines from North Vietnamese troops, U.S. Marine Corps Private
1st Class Bruce Wayne Carter, South Florida's only Vietnam War Medal of Honor
recipient ... was recognized during a formal ceremony on December 5, 2013 at the
VA medical center in Miami which bears his name.

Medal of Honor Citation... "Fully
aware of the probable consequences of his action but determined to
protect the men following him, he unhesitatingly threw himself over the
grenade, absorbing the full effects of its detonation with his body."
