Women of War | | Alongside men they fight side by side Willing to face the danger with pride. No nobler cause could they hope to enforce They fight for country and die with no remorse.
Battling on the horrific front lines They see death and destruction many times. Seen as an equal in war and in peace They could be your wife, sister or niece.
Hoping to live and return to their home They know they may die on enemies loam. Faced with the terrors of a cruel war Praying return from their enemies shore.
Never forget these brave young women They fight to protect what we've been given. Upon their return to our nation's shores Give them the thanks due mine and yours. | By Scott Stone Copyright 2004 |
