Three Fifths... In Time |
|
|
3rd Infantry Division
I said 'goodbye'
to three young soldiers today,
as they smiled and said "not to worry."
Each took my hand
and said, "You did your time
Old Soldier.
It's our turn now
and we won't let you down."
I told them I would keep
three bottles of Tennessee whiskey;
... one for each of them
when they came back home.
I watched them leave
... just watched
... just sat down outside
and cried! |
