Alone in the Grass |
|
|
Can't anyone hear his
urgent cries
from deep within the jungle grass,
as alone and weak, he fervently tries
to will his buddies to reach him fast,
as he slips in and out of cruel reality;
while elusive enemies, without relent,
strive to make him another fatality...
another notch on their barrels spent;
with heaven or hell a breath away
as his eyes grow wide in disbelief
as a rifle appears and grasses sway
and one more dies in the quest for peace... |
