You Are Remembered |
|
|
You answered your Nation's call
Your nation sent you to a foreign shore
You did your best and gave it your all
Just so they could count you within their score
You went on an unclear mission that ended in hell
You were pummeled with rocks and sticks and taken prisoner
That only others like you can truly tell
Placed in a hole in the ground, filled with dirty water
Sadistic treatment did not break your spirit
While some came home with glory and honor
Thanks to your God, Country and faithful wit
You remained behind closed and locked doors
You will be remembered for who you are
In all things considered, we know you did your best
While some were returned at the end of the war
And yet we still pray for all the rest |
