These warriors fought for the land of the free,
Brave is all they knew how to be.
They fought til their last breath,
fearless of meeting their death.
It was a struggle to make it through,
they courageously did what they had to do.
determined to give it their all,
even if it meant taking the fall.
There were days when they felt they had enough,
but they remained warriors and they were tough.
They became numb to all the sorrow,
holding on for one more day,
hoping for another tomorrow.
These men sacrificed their lives for others,
they wasn't just warriors they were brothers.
Many suffered the brunt of war,
The souls of the fallen will forever soar.
They answered their country's call,
Now they're heroes listed on a wall.
All those who were sadly laid to rest,
will be remembered as America's best. |
