Veteran's Day Message | |
|
On the 11th of November
We celebrate the day,
In honor of the heroes of
This good old USA,
Who've given their last measure
Of devotion to the cause
Of freedom and of liberty,
And each of us should pause,
And thank the men and women
Who are still serving today,
To keep America's hope alive,
So they who've passed away,
Out upon the battlefield,
Shall not have died in vain,
Nor those who suffer the battle wounds,
And now must live in pain,
Shall know that we appreciate
The sacrifice they made,
As we honor them with fireworks,
And even a parade.
But more, as we kneel in prayer
And thank the Lord above,
For all who've served, and serve today,
This country that we love.
May God bless America,
And bless those brave and true,
Who've served the cause of freedom,
And our Red, White and Blue.
And may we never, ever forget
The price they had to pay,
Who gave their life for freedom's cause,
And the good old USA.
"Greater love hath no man than this,
That a man lay down his life for his friends."
(John 15:13)
I place my hand upon my breast
And salute you, one and all,
Who've served, and yet are serving,
Whether great or small,
In the Armed Forces of
The good old USA,
And thank you for your service,
On this, our Veteran's Day. | By James H. Lee, Jr.
