We thank you for the service
You've rendered willingly,
To the United States of America,
This land of liberty,
And to the cause of justice,
And freedom through the years,
Defending and protecting,
Through all your trials and tears,
Not only those you dearly love,
But all Americans, too,
Who love this land, America,
And our Red, White and Blue,
And want to keep it waving
O'er land and on the sea,
An emblem of this land we love,
And our sweet liberty.
We thank you for the things you've done,
And all you yet may do,
In the service of our country,
And for your loved ones, too,
To keep America free from those
Who would enslave us here,
Defending and protecting those
Who to your heart are dear.
Thank you, thank you, thank you,
And may your service be
Faithfully recorded by your posterity,
As one who loves America,
And our Red, White and Blue,
And one who volunteered to be
One of Uncle Sam's great heroes, too.
