Taps for the Marine | |
|
As I stood beside his coffin Under a grey blue sky I
began to cry
This young Marine So silently lay His
life given on that day
His dreams are gone Laid to
rest Bugles mourn
Taps are sounded For this gallant
man Who gave his life in a foreign land
To protect the
freedom Of our land He died in the blazing sand
His
family mourns A a nation cries Taps cry out in pain
Thank you Sir For your gallantry We whisper to the
heavens
Taps fill the air A salute to you Respect
and honor given | By Mary Akey
