Sign of the Times |
|
|
Here I am living in the land of the free,
where people fought and some died for me.
I
heard of a man who erected a sign for the return
Of those lost across the sea.
Troubles he did
arouse, for they came to his house, a complaint in
the neighborhood, Said to take it down he should
Said that after February eleven, His sign better
be gone for good. Do they not know grass won't grow
because of shame, where it stood? |

About
Author...
Faye Sizemore makes her home in the beautiful foothills of South Carolina with Grant, the love of her life, as well as three dogs, two cats, two parakeets and four nanny goats. Grant is a Vietnam Veteran having served with the US Marines in 1968-69 and is, of course, Faye's muse. Faye is deeply interested in Veterans' Affairs and Veterans' Causes. She is very proud of Grant and her poetry is an off-shoot of that pride.
