Seems Like Old Times |
|
|
Returning along the paths of my mind through aromas
and sounds of another time, anticipatory tingles along
the spine as though unseen eyes watch every stride...
Old friends have come to visit once more, I see
familiar forms approach my door; yes, they're the ones I
was waiting for, and I warmly welcome them inside.
We sit and commune, one with the other, recalling the
events that made us brothers despite being sons of
different mothers and my heart is filled with pride.
The moon goes down as friends begin to fade and start
their return to that misty glade laughter trails behind
in a happy cascade I'll not fear when it's my time to
ride.*
One of these days, we'll all leave together
across battlefields now covered in heather united in
bonds nothing human could sever; companions, eternally
true and tried. |
