Salute Our Heroes On Veterans Day |
|
|
The hero goes where many would not dare...
to stare into the face of one's own death
gleaning beyond its cold and hollow stare,
pearls worth more than human breath,
like duty, honor and a righteous goal,
and the benefits of living terror-free;
as he assumes that sweet-yet-bitter role
of the soldier who would die for you and me.
God, bless our heroes wherever they are,
on fields of home or lands afar! |
