The Raven's Wing |
|
|
I stood silently
(and for a very long while)
beside three soldiers
... silent... as brothers who witnesses
all...
the harsh realities
of war.
I gazed
in awe
upon this large black wing
of death.
Thrust into the ground.
Granite sheen
falling from the sky.
Black wing of death,
silent,
except for the cry
of names
... and names
beside names.
on and on,
names.
I touched the winged places
where friends were resting
silently.
Yes,
before I left
I heard their voices
and understood.
The Raven,
and the Wings,
Flying towards home,
All of them! |
