Praying For You |

To all men and women in the military
This message is written for you
A poem I fill with love and support
Prayers for safety in all that you do
You were given a task to accomplish
One heavy with hardship and pain
Fighting the enemy on foreign soil
For our liberty and freedom to gain
With aching heart you left family and friends
While putting your life in harms way
For those who are less fortunate than us
May survive to see freedom one day
We are the citizens of the U.S.A
Who offer support in all that you do
As you battle in lands far across the sea
Our prayers for God's blessings upon you
Each day we hear of another life lost
Leaving families with hearts that are broken
Whose son or daughter has fallen in war
Causing many to become outspoken
Many voices cry we don't belong there
While others say we shouldn't have gone
It matters not what opinion we share
Each of us have a right to our own
Gratitude and heartfelt thanks I send
For your sacrifice in a foreign land
My prayers I offer to God each day
To guard you while you make a stand
In closing this message to all of our troops
Please know that I send you my love
I shall continue to pray for your safe return
That's my plea to the good Lord above
