My Soldier | |
| Gazing at a reflection alone, A perfect snow covered lawn, Moonlight reflecting, Memories of that day fresh in my mind,
Still it seems a thousand years ago, When we merged our lives, We said our I do's,
I knew it at the time, I know it now, You have a job to do,
You are a soldier, So brave, strong, and true, Swearing to honor, and protect, I am so proud of you,
I was selfish of our love that day, I cried, I begged you not to go, As you held me tight, As you wiped my tears, You did your best to calm my worst fears,
With that special look in your eyes. That you only give to me, You said your in my heart, And in there you always will be,
Every day that goes by, I remember these words, Feeling you there, Keeping me strong,
I miss you so much, May God keep you safe, You are my friend, lover, husband, and more, You are my soldier, and the love of my life. | By Melissa Israel Copyright 2006 Listed 12/21/2006 |
