His camouflage uniform brings out the green color of his eyes I sit and watch him pack his bags and anticipate our goodbyes He must stand the ground that freedom upholds And endure engagements wherever they may unfold It's hard to comprehend what he must do He's fighting for his country, for me, and for you He puts his life on the line, cause freedom isn't free He's forced to experience things I may never have to see He has the mind and body of a warrior, he's been taught to kill He was trained to do these things, cause no one else will I glance at him once more, he's one of the bravest men I've ever seen But then again, he'd have to be, he's a United States Marine! |
