The Lady Held A Flag |
|
|
She stood there
beside her son's grave
holding a small flag
that moved into the silence
of this Memorial Day.
... and she asked me to place it
into the earth beside his stone.
Morning
fell silent
and time
fell away.
She took my arm,
my heart,
and my soul.
... as we slowly walked
into the sunlight of today.
Together
and forever. |
