I Walked With Them Today |
|
|
I journeyed far
into the shadows
falling upon all the words
following
Sundown.
A dark forest
of whispering
... darkness,
that whispers
a lasting poem.
And my brothers sleep...
yet call out
to me.
I see them
each and every day
... young
and strong.
I am old
and growing gray.
An old veteran.
... a bearded
silver haired old soldier.
None would remember me
as young.
I yell at them! YELL!
at those memories.
Tell them to go.
Yet
they always follow me
home.
Quiet footsteps
treading softly within the wooded memory
of a man who loves
and remembers
them.
... and the forests that reach far
unto the very
all... of history.
All
... of time! |
