I Took It Home |
|
|
All the fear,
the half smiles,
the heartbeat!
The firefight
beside your torn and bloody
face!
Staring as I talked
... screamed
and yelled at you!
... and then it was over,
and the snapping blades of Dust-off
came
and took you away my Brother.
I am the old man
who touched your name.
Strange
... when soldiers are carved
in memory
as well as stone. |
