In Memory

Many noble patriots have sacrificed their all To
safeguard our sweet liberty, and answer freedom's call. They
gave their all in battle, and fought to keep us free, Free
from the oppressors, and free from tyranny.
They loved
this land of liberty, their friends and family, too, And
chose to fight with honor, for our Red, White and Blue, And
for the freedom we enjoy, a cause worth fighting for,
Extending the same freedoms to those on foreign shore.
"Greater love hath no man than this," the Scriptures say,
"Than a man lay down his life for his friends," and pass away
Into the Spirit World, where heroes, brave and true, Have
given their last measure, and see the things we do.
Don't
let the cause they fought for be lost in memory, But pause
and say a prayer for those who died to keep us free, And also
for the ones who now are fighting for this cause, Protecting
and defending our nation and our laws.
For if we are not
prayerful, and seek divine protection, Just as The Founding
Fathers did, who chose the right direction, It's possible to
lose it, this freedom that we love, And millions would be
weeping in mansions up above.
Especially those who gave
their lives to keep this nation free, Free from the
oppressors, who hate our liberty, And gladly would enslave us
and enslave our children, too, And would destroy our banner,
'tis our Red, White and Blue.
Let every American Patriot,
and those who love this land, Remember those who gave their
lives, who gladly took a stand, And stood for right and
freedom, and justice for one and all, Who now are hoping
we'll be true, and hoping we'll stand tall.
The battle
isn't over, nor will it ever be, As long as Satan has the
power to keep in slavery, God's noble sons and daughters, who
yearn to live in peace, Freed from chains of bondage, so
freedom may increase.
May God bless America, this land of
liberty, And may we show our gratitude for those who set us
free, Who gave their lives that we might live in peace upon
this land, And may we honor one and all who proudly took a
stand,
And served in the Armed Forces with pride and
dignity, Proud to be Americans who fought for liberty, And
for the cause of justice, defending truth and right, Giving
all they had to give with all their strength and might.
In memory we honor the living and the dead, Who rendered
faithful service, in histories I've read, Who loved their
country more than life, and vouchsafed liberty, By giving all
they had to give to keep our nation free. | By James H. Lee, Jr.
