I'm Joining The Troops | |
| I am tired of watching the news But I can't take my eyes away My heart just breaks anew Every single day.
I see brave men and women Some look like boys and girls Yet they are man enough To go and protect our world.
I feel guilty when I go to shop Yet it is something I must do We have to carry on Under the red white and blue.
When I answer the phone Hear my love ones on the telephone line I wonder how the families feel With their love ones on the front line.
When I kneel to pray It's the first thing on my mind And praying for the troops Is the best peace I can find.
Like you I have wondered what I could do Is there any way to help I'm too old, I'm too young, my steps not sure So I couldn't go myself.
I can't get up I can hardly lie down So what is there left to do But there is a war here at home That's left for me and you.
PRAYER is the weapon, FAITH the ammunition KNEES the battle ground GOD is our VICTORY, UNITY our pledge Arm in arm we shall be found.
My pledge is to remember And not get slack But pray for our troops Till everyone gets back. | By Sharon Steege Copyright 2003 Listed 7/24/2006 http://www.geocities.com/sosstop |
