I am an American soldier.
I wonder if my children will grow up in a world of war.
I hear about our troops bi-daily invading Muslim stores.
I see news of the deceased and the names of them all.
I worry that one day, like them, my day will come to fall.
I want this war to end and the tyranny to stop.
I pretend it all ends with a good outcome and the USA on
top.
I feel as if the army is my life's only calling.
I touch the souls, in my mind, of all the men who have
fallen.
I worry that my life will end in combat, at my very first
taste.
I cry about the men, whose lives have gone to waste.
I am an American soldier.
I understand the risk that follows me into hostile skies.
I say that there are many things to do to fill our lives.
I dream that one day soon this war will come to an end.
I hope that if it does not more men will stand ready to
defend.
