He Walks Alone |
|
|
He walks alone The warrior of honor He doesn't
serve for glory He knows better Medals for him don't
shine In that world there's no glory It bent and
crushed his body He still hears the call
He walks
alone The warrior of honor He doesn't serve for fame
He knows better Most he does won't be known In that
world there're no names It bent and crushed his body
He still hears the call
He walks alone The warrior
of honor He doesn't serve for prestige He knows better
Wading through sewage to exterminate In that world
there's no prestige It bent and crushed his body He
still hears the call
He walks alone The warrior of
honor He doesn't serve for the future At least not
his, He knows better Rain of brass and lead, friends
ripped away In that world there's no future It bent
and crushed his body He still hears the call
He
walks alone The warrior of honor Each step brings pain
ripping and tears Duty drives him forward with a grimace
He won't give that officer the pleasure Leg hug, brown
hair and eye of innocence There is why, he serves
HOPE, for a future for her.
He walks alone The
warrior of honor Forgetting the pain of the injuries
Love guides him he lifts the little girl She's more
important than the officer Restraints removed other
children run They find their beloved war hero Catching
up he stands united
He stands alone The warrior of
honor Watching as she kisses her warrior The young
warrior turns and enters the cage The warrior of honor's
embrace encompasses her Her warrior boards the bus to
"the other world" She cries knowing she might not see him
again The warrior of honor still hears the call |
