Hallowed Grounds |

Across the lush green carpet of fresh sod
White granite stones sit upright in pristine rows
They mark the final resting place of those who are now with
their God
For they gave their lives for their country and ideals
Etched in these white granite stones is a name of a special
person
A mother or father, a son or daughter, a wife or husband
Who, when their Nation called, they hesitated none
For they helped their country remain free and helped others
to be free
All are marked with their religious symbol
A Cross, Star of David and the Crescent Moon
They served their time in a personal hell in a far away
place
And now they are in their own personal heaven
The grounds perfectly kept
A place of peacefulness
No weeds show for this is a special place
A place for heroes in these Hallowed Grounds |
