Dysfunctional Veteran |

|
I was just trying to be a father, Raise a daughter
and a son, Be a lover to their mother: Then the
nightmares come. Up and at em fore the sun, I'm all
business in my suit, Yeah, I'm dressed for success
from my head down to my boots. I don't do it for money,
there's still bills that I can't pay, I don't do it for
the glory, No one will remember my name. I've lost my
future, no responsibility, Yeah I'm real good under
pressure, being all that I can be, and I'm sick
everyday dreamin' of what I've done wrong I
just hide through all the holidays, And patrol all night
long. You can bet that I stand ready when the wolf
growls at the door, Hey, I'm rock hard, hey I'm ready,
I can't relax since that damn war. And I will always be
on duty, I've already paid the price, I've counted up
the cost, I know the sacrifice. Oh, and I didn't die
for you, It was a lost soul for me, I bear that cross
without honor, Cause freedom don't come free.
I'm
a dysfunctional veteran, a veteran Beside my brothers and
my sisters I proudly took a stand, When liberty was in
jeopardy I always did what's right. I'm out here on
the front lines, sleep in peace tonight. Dysfunctional
Veteran, a Veteran, Guardin' your home town. |
