Naive, they
sought adventures bold,
the cheering crowds their flame within
and the pretty girls they would behold,
all waving flags at their gallant men;
who soon grew old before their time,
their lust for war by God destroyed
in combat's constant violent rhyme
where soldiers' hearts to Hell deployed. |
