A Torn and Tattered Flag |
|
|
What has died
my Brother?
The Sunset?
Rain
falling?
Morning?
Laughter hidden in storms
that never go away?
I touch nothing
but memories
anymore.
See the filth
of death upon your face
... once shining in laughter,
and in your eyes that have gone
away.
So very far away.
I am burning
inside myself.
I am so very alive,
yet I died
beside you.
Everything has fallen into your grave.
A darkness that shall burden me
for all
the rest of my days.
Goodbye... My Brother!
Goodbye!
The light has gone forever
from your eyes.
Midnight has fallen
on both of us.
You lie here in the rain,
like a flag.
fallen,
torn and broken.
The red of your blood!
The white of your pale skin!
The blue of your eyes
shining in the rain,
falling. |
