Always, They Came |
|
|
They always came in answer to the call
Day or night; they gave their all
In a deadly earnest dash with death
Racing to arrive while there was still breath
In men who were yesterday's boys...
Whose eyes had lost their joy...
Whether they were Dustoff' or Medevac'
Wasn't important to the men they took back.
As the saying goes, "What's in a name?"
It was enough that, when called, they came. |
