A Sailor | |
| A brave sailor in a different war, Fighting on a far distant shore. Following orders doing what he was told, Though young, soon he became bold.
Deployed to a country knowing no one there, In his mind didn't even come to bear. Trapped in a war that was harsh and cruel, Having to do with a communistic rule.
After training and becoming a Navy Seal, There were no games, everything was real. Three days, carrying upon his back a buddy, With the Monsoon rains making it very muddy.
Then when he was able to come home, He was spit upon and it hurt to the bone. But if he were here and he got the call, He would be the first one over the wall.
For he believed in our right to be free, And doing what it takes to remain so, you see. Prejudice? Maybe.... but in my eye no other, For you see, he was my only brother. | Diana Gebe Copyright 2003 |
