We Are Americans | |
| Out of the rubble and twisted steel; From the works of evil men; Sprang a phoenix of resolve and will To fight that hatred to the end; To meet the cowards eye-to-eye, And rip the saber from their hands; To secure again God's soft blue sky; To peacefully travel our sacred land.
We shall not whimper alone and dark! We shall not hide from the threat! From the dead we've set the mark To be paid in full that bloody debt! Together we will march against the foe, And never waiver till their defeat! In search of the murderers we will go, And from that mission we'll not retreat!
We are Americans, strong and proud. We love our freedom; and it defend! Our flag shall prove to be a shroud To those who chose to boldly offend The very fiber of our blessed life And everything that we hold dear. Their end shall be our life-long strife, And peace, again, will be our cheer! | By Thomas McClure Copyright 2004 |
