Pledge of Allegiance | |
|
Do we really pledge allegiance
To our nation's banner,
"And to the Republic for which it stands,"
In a truly patriotic manner?
Do we accept this nation as being
"Indivisible, with liberty and justice for all?"
Do we believe that "Under God,"
This nation shall ever stand tall?
The nation itself can do nothing,
But we, the people, declare
That if we put our trust in God,
We'll gain His constant care.
Then He will fight our battles,
As He did long years before,
But we must keep His holy laws
If we will right restore.
The annals of human history
Are filled with facts, not fiction.
When men decide to turn from God,
There follows much affliction.
We read of hate and envy,
Of malice and deceit,
Of murder and disobedience,
How men their wives mistreat.
We call on people everywhere
To pledge allegiance to
Our God, and faith rekindle,
And righteousness renew.
Put off the shackles of the past,
And seek God's will to do,
Then He will e'er protect us,
And keep our banner true. | By James H. Lee, Jr. Copyright
