Of What Is An American Made? |
| Of what is an American made? Truth? Honor? Justice? Of what is an American made? Hard work? Perseverance? Dedication? Is that what makes an American?
Of what is an American made? Beliefs? Morals? Principles? Of what is an American made? The right to choose his future? Is that what makes an American?
Of what is an American made? A declaration, a constitution, a bill of rights? Of what is an American made? An alloy of cultures, beliefs, and backgrounds? Is that what makes an American?
Of what an American is made No one can tell. But each and every American is smelted in the forge of freedom. A forge well kept and guarded by the unsung heroes of our country. That's what makes an American. | Mike 12th Grade Copyright 2006 Listed 11/14/2006Poem "recognized for creative excellence" by School District of Lee County, Ft. Myers, FL |
