In God We Trust | |
| The scriptures tell us not to trust In the arm of flesh, Lest we become entangled In Satan's ways and mesh, But we should "trust in the Arm of God," And in the Savior, too, For they alone can help us To stand forever true.
America was established By men of faith and prayer, Who trusted in the arm of God, And in His loving care, And pledged their allegiance to This land of liberty, This land we call America, From sea to shining sea.
They trusted in the arm of God Upon the battlefield, And determined in their heart and soul That they would never yield To kings and also rulers Who would enslave their soul, But they would fight for freedom, With liberty as their goal.
Though many gave their lives, their all, To set this nation free, It was the God of Heaven, Who won their victory, And opened up the way for them To establish this free land, This land we call America, With Father in command.
The documents they fashioned Were inspired by God above, To establish this land of liberty, This country that I love, And many gave their lives, their all, To keep this nation free, Free from chains of bondage, And free from tyranny.
And we, their benefactors, Should pledge allegiance, too, To God, and to our nation, And our Red, White and Blue, For He, it is, that freed us, So we could ever be One nation, "Under God," A land of liberty.
The prophets have declared it To be a chosen land, A promised land, a favored land, With Father in command, But only if we worship Christ, And serve Him faithfully, Obeying His commandments, Will this land remain free.
So let us pledge allegiance To God, and Christ, the Lord, And truly live the gospel, Which all men may afford, So that this land we dearly love Shall ever remain free, And truly be a chosen land, A land of liberty. | By James H. Lee, Jr. Copyright 2006 Listed 2/6/2006 |
