Freedom Never Was Free |
|
|
Freedom's a gift That never was free It was
bought at a price For you and for me It was paid by the blood
Of those gone before But today we must ask Is it still worth
fighting for?
Is it worth it to stand Apart from the norm
Is it worth it to head Straight into the storm Not of temperatures
Ice, wind, and hail But that of attitudes, choices Ideas gone
derail
Where do we run to Where do we turn With so much
division Apathy and bridges to burn How have we gone So far
from the start Of what made us great What set us apart
As I
said before Freedom has never been free It never has been Nor
will it ever be... Our loans are coming due We all must pay When
it comes down to freedom there can only be one way
There is no
question the train is off the track But the time is not to point
fingers The time is to act There are no simple answers There
are no easy sales The train itself Has completely derailed
We can't restore it In one single hour But we must decide Who
will willed the power Will it be We The People As that great
document states Or will it be government bureaucrats Those who
only want to dictate
It can only be we the People If we the
people are willing to fight For dignity, honor, the Constitution
And all thing that are right If we want to be politically correct
We might as well give up now If we are to afraid to shout out Then
just take a bow
The only thing that can restore What our Fore
Fathers gave Is their same conviction Their same fortitude, their
same call to aid I'll say it one last time Freedom never was free
Is the price to high For you and for me? |
