Do you remember that day? The day of the towers? The day the world stood United against terrorist powers?
Can you remember the numbness You felt deep inside? Can you remember the feeling As America stood united?
Can you remember the faces Of the brave men and women Who fought for our lives And died to defend them?
Can you remember the speech Our President gave? Or do you block it out Through Michael Moore's propaganda game? Have you seen the pictures of the brave men and women Who are there in Iraq to fight for our freedom? Or does the media block it out With pictures of betrayal and slaughter?
You want a free country, One that stands united. You say you want a President That listens to his people.
But how can you say that When you mock him now? How can you mock anyone's ideas When you shed our dead soldiers no tears?
You say you want freedom And you want it right now. So please tell me why On the deciding day, You stay home in bed, Because it's raining that day?
So, if you make an excuse on Election Day As to why you don't vote I dare you to say That you don't like the new laws laid down, And the President's decisions you frown.
Because the country should unite, Like on that September day, So that our children can say They live in a country where freedom rings And they live in a place Where hope sings. |
