American Spirit | |
|
It all started in the
summer of 2001
America's eyes were opened to
what terror really was.
A day three planes where used as
missiles,
And thousands of innocent people
died.
In pain, the stunned American's
asked why.
Some people don't like the
American way of life.
From a young age they've been
taught to hate,
And that a bad outcome for
America awaits.
It's drilled into their heads
these words to recite,
"The Americans are wrong and we
are right".
Since that terrible day six
years ago,
Some of our Soldiers went off to
war.
They risk their lives each and
every day,
Patrolling cities of foreign
lands and,
Dodging bombs in the air and
sand.
They witness first hand what
hate can do.
Bombs are strapped to people's
chest,
And set off in crowded areas to
protest.
Over there, Our Soldiers will
persevere,
So they won't have to fight over
here.
Many Soldiers are injured or
killed,
Doing their job, protecting you!
Don't let their sacrifice go
unnoticed,
Thank the Soldiers for what
they've done.
Hopefully soon, they can lay
down their guns.
The people that hate us are
still around,
Making threats to bring America
down.
They can threaten us all they
want,
But, AMERICANS will stand and
fight AS ONE
Because, Our Spirit can NEVER be
outdone. | By Barbara Sanderlin
