Liberty's Alter |
|
|
Those flag covered coffins
hold more than American
Sons and daughters-
Each encases an American
hero who died on liberty's alter.
Tho their lips have been
silenced and their hearts shall
never again quicken at the sight
of old glory ripplin in the wind....
Their silence testifies of their
unconditional love for their country
and fellow countrymen.
One cannot help but look upon
those flag covered coffins with
sadness and with pride
When one considers the price
of freedom paid by those inside.
Long will Americans be thankful
for those champions of the
red, white, and blue who lived and
died in such away as to move a
grateful nation to tears.
Thank you American soldier
For a job well done
Because of your individual love
for justice and liberty you faced
your foe and fore filled the mission
for which you were born.
Those flag covered coffins
hold more than American
Sons and daughters-
Each encases an American
hero who died on liberty's alter. |
