For Jessi Lynch |
|
|
In the worst of war
we fall into dark places
... and always it seems
we are alone
and we pray that night
stays by our side
... that we may sleep
just for a little while
without fear
of enemy eyes
Dawn reveals us
alone
wounded
and afraid
... yet we hear soft voices moving behind us
see familiar faces beside us
and we cannot speak to them
because our tears are washing away all fear
Our Brothers
and our Sisters
are here. |
